Kick-Ass 2 Review

Here we go again!

Kick-Ass 2 stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Chloe Grace Moretz, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Jim Carrey, Donald Faison, Lyndsy Fonseca and Clark Duke.

A few years after the events of the first Kick-Ass, Dave (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Mindy (Chloe Grace Moretz) are trying to live normal lives. But Dave wants to be a superhero again and lead his own Superhero team with Mindy. However, Mindy’s adopted Dad catches her skipping school and bans her from being Hit Girl again. Dave decides to join Justice Forever, run by ex mobster, Colonel Stars and Stripes (Jim Carrey). When Justice Forever are making a difference, the world’s first super villain arises, The Mother F****r (Christoper Mintz-Plasse) assembles his own team and he wants revenge against Kick-Ass and Hit Girl for killing his dad. Can Justice Forever stop the villains before they kill Kick-Ass and Hit Girl!

I didn’t hate this movie as much as other people did. I think there are a lot of good moments in this film. This film continues to feel like that it is set in the real world. It makes perfect sense that once there is one superhero that other people would step up and follow in their steps. The members of Justice Forever where a lot of fun and Jim Carrey was great in his role. The villains were enjoyable and gave the characters a proper challenge. However, I felt that despite the additions of the members of Justice Forever, that the story was too similar to the first film. That was quite annoying but I am guessing that it is a story from the graphic novels. I also felt that they left it too late because Chloe Grace Moretz, grew up a lot between this film and the last, so the effect of seeing Hit Girl as a young girl has worn off because she is now a full on teenager and I wish we could have seen more Hit Girl when she was younger because she really did steal the show in the first film.

Overall, I rate Kick-Ass 2 7/10! It works as a finish to the Kick-Ass franchise and I don’t really need to see the characters again and I really don’t want to see a Hit Girl prequel because that would be weird because someone else would have to play Hit Girl.

What did you think of Kick-Ass 2? Do you wanna see anymore from the franchise?
