The Wolfpack is back!
The Hangover Part II stars Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Justin Bartha, Ken Jeong, Mason Lee and Jamie Chung.
Stu (Ed Helms) is getting married to Lauren (Jamie Chung) in Thailand. So naturally he brings along his best friends Phil (Bradley Cooper) and Doug (Justin Bartha), as well as bringing along Alan (Zach Galifianakis). The group are having a few drinks on the beach with Lauren’s brother Teddy (Mason Lee). The next morning Phil, Stu and Alan all wake up in a room in Bangkok and can’t remember anything that happened, Stu has a tattoo on his face, Alan has a shaved head and there is a monkey in their room, but where is Doug and Teddy. Fortunately, Doug is back at the hotel and is fine, but where is Teddy? The trio quickly find Mr Chow in their room, he is about to tell him everything when he sniffs cocaine and dies. Phil, Alan and Stu must now team up and try and find Teddy and get Stu to his wedding on time.
Sound familiar? Yep because it is exactly the same as the first one. I went into this movie with high hopes because I love the first one but I was not expecting to see the same thing again. They could of gone in a different way like they did in the third installment but because the first one made so much they decided to just do the same thing again. There are still a lot of really good moments in the film, it is still a funny film. The performances are solid and there is a great cameo by a returning character from the first one. I don’t really know what else to say because it is the same as the first one but not as good because we have already seen it done. I don’t know why the makers thought that doing the exact same thing would work out for them. I don’t see why we need to make everything into a franchise, I know it makes money but I would rather see a new film than a bad sequel.
Overall, I rate The Hangover Part II 6/10! Enjoyable at times.
What do you think of The Hangover Part II? Do you think they should have made a sequel?
