The Hangover Part III Review

It All Ends!

The Hangover Part III stars Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Justin Bartha, Ken Jeong, John Goodman and Melissa McCarthy.

Alan (Zach Galifianakis) and his crazy antics have drives his Dad to give Alan a massive lecture about owning up for his behaviour but during the speech, Alan’s Dad has a heart attack and dies. Phil (Bradley Cooper), Stu (Ed Helms) and Doug (Justin Bartha) all turn up to the funeral where Alan’s mum informs that Alan has been worse than ever. So the four of them stage an intervention and send him to a rehab facility. On the way there, their car is rammed of the road by a guy called Marshall (John Goodman). They find out that when Alan bought roofies for Doug’s bachelor party (Events of the first film), it stalled a gold heist. Marshall wants this to be given to him and he takes Doug as hostage. They find out that Mr Chow had half of the gold and only Alan knows where he is. Can the wolfpack get the gold back and will Alan ever learn from his mistakes?

Well at least it is over now. I appreciate that the makers of this third installment in the Hangover franchise wanted to go for something different and didn’t want to spend the film tracking down someone who was missing and that they couldn’t remember what happened. However, this film really isn’t good and just goes over the top. The story line was a bit stupid and but I am not sure what they could have done to keep with it. Perhaps tried to do something with teenagers who were taking roofies or something. I don’t know. It also felt far too forced that the gang returned to Vegas. The characters aren’t action heroes and it just didn’t fit. Mr Chow also just goes a bit over the top and was in the film too much for me. This film was the least funny in the franchise, most of the jokes really fall flat.

Overall, I rate The Hangover Part III 4/10! It tried to do something and it did not work. Glad to see the end of this franchise where there was 1 good film, 1 meh film and a bad film.

What do you think of The Hangover Part III? What was your favourite in the franchise?
