Big Hero 6 Review

Don’t really get the title. They aren’t big. There is more than one of them so should be heroes. And 6 well there is 5 and a robot.

Big Hero 6 stars the voices of Scott Adsit, Ryan Potter, Daniel Henney, TJ Miller, Jamie Chung, Damon Wayans Jr, Genesis Rodriguez and James Cromwell.

Hiro (Ryan Potter) is an extremely smart 14 year old who graduated high school at 13. But Hiro doesn’t really know what to do with himself, so he creates a robot an enters into tournaments to win money. Hiro’s brother, Tadashi (Daniel Henney), takes him to his college and Hiro realises how cool the college and the projects are and Hiro wants to join. However, on the night of the Hiro’s presentation to get into the college, things start well but go very wrong when there is a fire and Tadashi is killed. Hiro is left with Tadashi’s creation, Baymax (Scott Adsit) who is a health robot. Hiro and Baymax find something from Hiro’s project which leads then to a warehouse and they meet an evil villian. Hiro and Baymax, along with a few friends, must team together to uncover who this mystery villain is and stop them!

I didn’t know what to think going into this. I knew that it was Disney making a children’s superhero film and it just sounded random and the trailers didn’t sell it to me, it felt like it was more for children. But when I did sit down and watch it I was very pleasantly surprised and this movie is really good. Baymax is amazing and hilarious and one of the best recent Disney characters. Disney have been doing really well with their non-Pixar films (Frozen, Tangled) and this one is definitely a more manly option than Frozen and Tangled. I would actually say that Big Hero 6 is a better film than Frozen. Maybe because after all the build up I was let down by Frozen and with this I went in with little expectations. There is a lot of funny characters, there is no singing, the action is really, the animation itself looked really good and the team are really good together.

Overall, I rate Big Hero 6 8/10! A film for all the family. It doesn’t require you to know a lot about the characters like some superhero films and it works well by itself but I would like to see a sequel. Just replace Cars 3 with Big Hero 6 2, I don’t think anyone would mind.

What do you think of Big Hero 6? Do you think it was better than Frozen? Do you wanna see a sequel?
