Sing Review

The Animal X Factor.

Sing stars Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Seth MacFarlane, Scarlett Johansson, John C Reilly, Taron Egerton, Tori Kelly and Jennifer Saunders.

In a world like ours apart from everyone are animals, Buster Moon is looking to create a singing competition in order to regain popularity at his theatre. When a mistake in the fliers means everyone in the town applies for the competition he must put on the best show so he can save the theatre without telling the contestants.

Positives. The story is different to what you would normally expect from an animated film. With all the reality shows on TV at the moment it makes a change to see one that is actually entertaining. The characters are great, you really care about Buster and the contestants on the show who all get developed well enough for a children’s animated film with a lot of characters in.

Negatives. The story is quite basic but it works but can mean that the it is very predictable but that works for children but for adults looking for an interesting story you won’t find it with this film. Some of the jokes didn’t land for me, but there will be jokes that work for me that don’t work for others.

A real family film that everyone can enjoy.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.
