Wonder Woman Review (No Spoilers)

The future of justice begins with her.

Wonder Woman stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Ewen Bremmer, Said Taghmaoui, Elena Anaya, Eugene Brave Rock and Lucy Davis.

When Diana was growing up, she was being trained to be the greatest warrior to stop Ares if he returns. When a pilot crashes near the hidden island of Themyscira, Diana races to save the pilot. He tells of the ongoing war in the world and she wants to help. They travel to London, where Diana plans to stop the war and the God of war.

I always found it a big surprise that Wonder Woman hadn’t been on the big screen before she made her appearance in Batman v Superman. A small role, but one that a lot of the audience really enjoyed, myself included, in a film that was mixed. So I was excited for this film, but after being disappointed by BvS and Suicide Squad, I was wary.

Positive. The character of Wonder Woman is great. She is a badass, who I am so glad has finally managed to get the screen time she deserves. Gal Gadot continues to impress in the role and the character gets plenty of time to shine. Chris Pine is also a good Steve Trevor and is a great addition to the DC Extended Universe, who helps elevate this film, as he teaches Diana about the world.

There isn’t as much action as I would want in the film with only about three action scenes in the film, but the action we get, not only looks great but helps enhance the character.

Negatives. I only have a couple of negatives. The main one being that the story was quite generic. It is a simple story similar to other films we have seen before. And because of the lack of action at times, it slows the film down but the characters are interesting enough that it keeps it interesting.

The DCEU is back on track and I am excited for Justice League again!

Rating: 4 out of 5.
