Logan Lucky Review

See how the other half steals.

Logan Lucky stars Channing Tatum, Adam Driver, Daniel Craig, Riley Keough, Seth MacFarlane, Katie Holmes, Katherine Waterston, Brian Gleeson, Jack Quaid and Sebastian Stan.

The Logan brothers are looking to pull off a heist, stealing money from a vault beneath a Nascar track, while a race is going on. They break out a prisoner from jail, recruit his brothers, making a team that are performing a heist on one of the busiest Nascar race days.

Positives. In a film that has a few really good performances, Daniel Craig and Adam Driver steal the show. Daniel Craig plays the odd prisoner who they break out of prison and it was great to see him playing a different role, something completely different to James Bond. He is funny and quirky and you can see how much fun he is having in the role and excites me for what he will do after he has actually finished with Bond. Adam Driver is also great. A young actor who has really proven himself over the last couple of years, will definitely only be a matter of time before he is nominated for an Oscar. Everyone else is the film gives good performances, including Channing Tatum. The heist is good and well shot and edited, making the audience think they know everything that is happening, very cleverly done.

Negatives. The third act was where the film suffered for me. After the heist is complete, the film completely slows down and has several moments where I thought the film was going to end, then it adds something to show why it hadn’t finished yet, but it wasn’t needed. Seth MacFarlane also sticks out like a sore thumb, his character felt like a character from one of his shows and has a poor accent and equally bad fake mustache and hair.

Overall a good heist film, with good characters and performers.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.
